We share a passion for food and hospitality. We love to cook as organically as possible and we make most of the food we serve from scratch. During the renovation of the house (last ten years) we have provided housing to guest artists from 22 different countries and 21 states in support of four local non-profit arts organizations – Working Classroom, Tricklock Theatre, 516 Arts, and the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
Laura and Richard also own and manage Smart Use, a water conservation consulting company, with projects ranging from water audits of Naval bases to helping local residents and businesses save water. Both were invited to present at an International Water Efficiency Conference in Paris. Of course the Bella Roma is very water efficient and as energy efficient as we can make it with a 130 year-old house!
We love to go out and enjoy the local restaurants and weekend music venues and we’ll tell you all about our favorites. Albuquerque has a good selection of local music venues. We also enjoy the Isotopes Baseball games (AAA farm team for the Colorado Rockies) and UNM Men’s and Women’s Basketball.
